Account & Data Deletion

This policy applies to both MyBonusBerlin (the customer app) and MyBonusBerlin Panel (the business admin portal). We distinguish between two types of accounts: customer accounts and business accounts. How we handle deletion and data retention depends on which type of account you have.

Two Types of Accounts

  • Customer accounts — Used by people who use the MyBonusBerlin app to collect points, redeem rewards, discover businesses, and leave reviews. One account per user (linked to a phone number).
  • Business accounts — Used by merchants, restaurants, salons, and similar businesses that subscribe to MyBonusBerlin Panel to manage their loyalty program, offers, reviews, and customer engagement. Access is tied to a paid annual subscription.

How to Request Deletion

Send an email to info@mybonusberlin.com with the subject line: Account Deletion Request.

Include the following so we can identify your account:

  • For customer accounts: The phone number you used to register, and your username if you know it.
  • For business accounts: Your business name, the phone number or email associated with the account, and any admin or account details that help us locate the business profile.

Customer Account Deletion

When we process a deletion request for a customer account, we delete the following, subject to any legal or operational retention requirements:

  • Account profile information (phone number, name, username, email if provided)
  • Loyalty activity: points, stamps, coupons, and reward/redemption history
  • Reviews you have left, where applicable, unless we must retain them for legal or operational reasons
  • Device or notification identifiers (e.g. tokens used for push notifications) where applicable

Business Account Deletion

When we process an explicit deletion request for a business account, we delete business profile and account information, loyalty configuration, rewards and coupon settings, customer engagement settings, dashboard data, and other operational data associated with that business account, except where we are required to retain data for legal, tax, security, or fraud-prevention purposes.

If you want your business account and data removed entirely, please send a deletion request to the email above. We will process it in line with this policy and any mandatory retention obligations.

Subscription Expiry and Data Retention

If a business does not renew its subscription, access to the business dashboard (MyBonusBerlin Panel) is suspended when the subscription period ends. This is not the same as an immediate full deletion of data.

We may retain business data for up to 6 months after subscription expiry so that the business can reactivate and continue without having to set everything up again. After this retention period, we may delete or anonymize inactive business data in accordance with our internal policy and legal obligations, except where we must keep certain records (e.g. for tax, accounting, security, or fraud prevention).

If the business wants its data removed sooner, it can submit an explicit account deletion request by email. We will then process the deletion subject to any mandatory retention requirements.

Data We May Retain

In some cases we retain limited data where required: for legal compliance, tax or accounting obligations, fraud prevention, security, or dispute handling. Any such data is stored securely and only for as long as necessary. This applies to both customer and business accounts.

Processing Time

We process deletion requests within 30 days of receiving the required information.
